For our wedding, my husband and I chose the image of a garden to tell the story: just like a garden we wanted to emphasise our commitment to tending to the garden to ensure that it would flourish and become a place of refuge and empowerment for one another as well as a source of healing and hope for others in a world full of challenges.

To honour our commitment to sustainability, we also chose decoration that would outlast the day of our wedding and could serve as decoration for our post-wedding home. Inspired by fashion designer Martin Margiela we repurposed used materials and went for a textured white paint aesthetic. We chose the imagery of tools to symbolize our commitment and effort, and the fruit, vegetables and flowers as an image of the fruitfulness we envision for our future.
